Conditions of Entry

• Entry is open to professional photographers, emerging photographers, enthusiasts and student photographers that live in Australia.
• All entries are to be a still work that has been substantially produced by photographic means.
• Each photo must be A4 or 12” x 8” in size and must be mounted on Black colour board. The Combined thickness of mount and print must not exceed 4mm or 6mm if using a window mount.
• All entries must have been taken by the Entrant within the last three (3) years.
• All elements of the photograph must be the work of the photographer. The Entrant is to be solely responsible for any editing, post-processing and orientation of the image.
• The entrant must be the sole Copyright Holder and Intellectual Property owner of their entries in accordance with Australian Law.
• Photos submitted to previous Henry Lawson Festival Photographic Competitions are ineligible for entry.
• Any previously winning entry that has been awarded an Overall / Most Outstanding / Champion prize, or a Ist or 2nd placing in another Photography Competition will not be eligible to be entered in this Festival Competition.
• Artificial Intelligence (AI) does NOT have a part in this Festival Photography competition. There is to be no editing or processing by artificial intelligence, and any AI generated images will be disqualified.
• The photographer will be solely responsible for any potential claim made by a third party in respect of their entries, and must accept liability for any claims made. Entrants must complete an Online Entry Form and may enter up to three (3) entries per Section, and six (6) entries in total for both the Open and Junior Categories. No two entries may be of the same image or subject.
• Entry Fees are $10 per entry in the Open, Junior  and Locals Only Section. Payment must be made at the time of entry. Any Payments not cleared by 19 May, will not be judged or exhibited.
• All entries must have an Identification label attached to the top left corner on the back of the art mount identifying the photographers Name, Entry title, Section and Category. There must not be any identifying markings on the front of the entry.
• All entries must be received by 5:00pm, Friday 22nd May 2026. If entries are posted, they must be postmarked by Friday 22nd May 2026 to be eligible for entry into the competition.
• The Promoter reserves the right to reject any entries which are considered to be pornographic, inappropriate or that they believe infringe Australian law.
• Failure to abide by the eligibility conditions may render the entry ineligible and it will not be judged or exhibited.
• A decision by the Promoter regarding an entry’s eligibility, and/or suitability pursuant to Clause 12 is final and no correspondence will be entered into, even if the disqualification is determined after the official judging of entries.
• Entries will be displayed in a public exhibition from Thursday 5th June 2026 to Tuesday 9th June 2026, however, not all entries may be exhibited due to space restrictions. The Promoter reserves the right to choose and prioritise which entries are hung for exhibition.
• Copyright of entries remains with the entrant.
• All care will be taken with entries but the Promoter accepts no responsibility for loss or damage to entries.
• The entrant permits the Promoter and Sponsors to reproduce all or part of their entry, free of charge, for publication and/or display in media related to the competition and exhibition. This may include low resolution reproduction on the Festival’s social media pages and related websites.
• The Overall winning photograph may be celebrated and hung among other Overall Winners on the Wall of Honour in the Visitor Information Centre or Art Gallery during future Henry Lawson Festivals. For this to occur, the Overall Winning entry will become the property of The Henry Lawson Festival of Arts Inc. to be framed with a plaque, and displayed at the Committee’s discretion in the Weddin Shire Art Gallery and Hub Centre.
• The Committee would be very appreciative if the winners of each Section and Category could provide us with a Digital Copy of your photograph for our Records, and the right to reproduce your image in future publicity to promote the Henry Lawson Festival of Arts. Wherever possible, the Photograher and Title of the photo would be acknowledged.
